It is not my intention to be a mineral dealer, per se, taking advantage of an ever-growing niche industry (mineral collecting); that is, going to trade shows, buying flats of showy and popular minerals, and just reselling them purely as a business opportunity. As a geologist, my intent is to enlighten, educate, and connect with fellow mineral enthusiasts. Many collectors acquire specimens based solely on their rarity or aesthetics, without actually knowing anything about their intrinsic value and connection to civilization. In this regard, I offer specimens--some of which are seldom, if ever, found for sale anywhere--that I have actually collected myself over the past forty-plus years from mines and other localities, each accompanied with an explanation of what the mineral is, its chemical composition, history, and any other pertinent information. Rarely will such specimens be of "museum" quality, though sometimes such worthy specimens can be found. My intent is to provide, at the very least, representative specimens adventurous rochhounds can expect to find at various locales. At best, some will be of high enough quality or rarity to be a proud addition to any display collection; others will serve well as reference material for study, testing, and teaching/learning aids.
Eventually, I will also offer ancillary products that are logically compatible with rockhounding in general, such as guidebooks, camping gear, prospecting equipment, and so forth. Please use the Contact page for inquiries.
I'm looking forward to having a lot of fun with this section in the future!
